I ,took my bike for the first time this year a couple days ago,ran the gas I had in it through and filled her up again, everything was fine ,rode again the next day ,all good, now today the wife and I were out riding and on the highway it's 70mph so we're cruzin right along but pushing through a little wind I feel the motor pulse, for lack of a better word, weird kind of felt like it wanted to go faster for a split second,no more, just slight tug, sight tug, like that, giving her more gas she would go faster but have that sensation.thru the gears it would'nt happen, only when at 70mph cruzin.anyone else ever have this happen?

Go back out again, with the same load, except this time crack your gas cap loose. If the problem goes away you've got a plugged vent in your gas cap. If the gas cap is not the problem check your plugs, are you running lean?

Dude,

I just saw your pod filters. They will cause the problem you are describing in a NY second. You can fit some sort of side shields but the best option is the stock air box.

no I dont think i am running lean,I actually checked the plugs yesterday and they look good, but can the petcock be the problem?I leave it on res, because it leaks when I leave it on,i am getting a new one soon. How long will it take to show a lean condition on the plugs because I havnt been on this bike alot I got it at the end of the year, and put, plugs wires,coils,dynatek2000 ign,vnh 4-1, dyno jet kit, rode a couple hundred mi,and stored her away,oh used stabil, and started her every once in a while all winter and changed the oil before i rode her this year.

As already mentioned, lean condition would also cause this same symptom... My guess would be a tad on the lean side.

How's the intake manifolds, possible air leak?

Pop out a plug, and snap a picture, clean zoom, no flash in the sun light if possible... If right on, you should have slight carbon ring around the base ring, ground strap will be ~ 1/2 way and there shouldn't be any speckles on the insulator.

Should look like bottom right....

nice looking bike!!!!..i cant tell from the pic the pods you have , but even with k and n pods if i ride on a windy day on one of the roads near home(wind coming off the water
100ft away)..i get a little surging...other than that no probs....if you are using emgo pods or another cheap brand, those problems will be magnified and more easily apparent....

When's the last time you've done a good dynamic vacuum sync on those carbs?

As they start to go out of sync the bike will pulsate when cruising under load.

Makes a big difference in the power consistancy and delivery...

Your symptoms mentioned seem exactly as I just witnessed in my final jetting of my CR specials....

NOTE: confirmed carbs were synced within 2cmHg of each other....

New YY( needles (leaner) @ clip position 4:
No problems, no hesitations, flat line power band, popping out the exhaust, smoke etc...

Drop to clip position 3 for the next leaner configuration:
On test drive noticed a few nee issues....

Low to mid range, noticed a slight hesitation then she would take off....

At a steady (vista cruise control) 6000rpm (80mph), a slight back and forth tugging. Almost as in a blocked fuel line filter, or she was just starting to run out of gas... Not heavily mind you but definitely noticeable...

Basically translates into more air than gas due to leaner needle clip position....;)

Also noticed she flat lined at ~ 7000rpm and up... Just seemed like she had no power any longer... Sure with time and throttle, she'd creep up but not like before the clip change.

Back home, changed back to clip position 4, re-check sync then back out for a test ride.... All good!

Pulls steady from any rpm range, no hesitations, no flat line, no tugging, no back firing out the exhaust when decelerating etc.... Basically dialed in!!! :woohoo:

Learned a lot about my old girl through this jetting session... :S

I must agree that it sounds like it is lean. However not on the mains since it is a t 70MPH. that speed is a transition RPM and not at the RPM that main jets come into play. I would say that your pilot jets are clogged or your your needles or needle jets are varnished. i would do a full and complete cleaning of your carbs.
