help id a caliper added another picture was created by iwa
I have what i believe is a 1972 z1 front forks i purchased it about 25 yrs ago and was told it was off 900 kaw never was told what year it was i am now trying to find out it has the code 7 d 2 on the front rotor and all the pictures i find are for 73 and up and have a different style caliper then i have the lower fork tubes look right here are some pictures

Do you have a sideshot pic? Looks to be Z1 forks but not sure on the caliper, the Kaw triples shared the same caliper as the Z1. Just from what I see looks to be Z1

Yeah, the rotor code says it is 1972 production but I don't recognize the caliper...I have looked at a 1975 Z2A caliper, a 1977 KZ1000A1, 1979 KZ1000B3, 1982 GPz750, and 1982 GPz1100 and it resembles none of them. :S

I would guess it to be an early two stroke triple caliper. The mount bolt spacing on the Z1 was unique to the Z1 and triples. The KZ models have a wider spacing on the mount bolts and will not work on the early model forks

It looks like an H2 setup. The H2 fork tubes are a good inch shorter than the Z1 tubes, but they do have the same side reflector in the side of the fork lowers.
