Best price for big bore Z1 kit? was created by CruisingRam
Anyone know the lowdown on the best price to up the cc of my bike? It is a 1975 Z1 B, and I lost a piston last year. Like to go up to 1200cc, but I really will take the best price over-bore I can get. I can get the cases and block bored for free, so that price is not part of the equation. Overheating is not a problem either here in Alaska. Got to get started on the motor STAT if I want to get this finished by summer. I will port the head and change the cams once I get a baseline reading with stock heads and carbs I have on it now. First, I want it running though. So, if the price of a piston kit for a 1000cc is the same for a 1200-ish kit, I will buy the 1200.

any kit you get for a 1200 will contain sleeves as well as the rest of the goodies the stock 1015 sleeves will only go out to 1105 safely the next step is to push out your stock sleeves and bore out your stock block and install the bigger sleeves for the 1200 kit.900 blocks can only be taken out to 1015 safely with out going to bigger sleeves. the 900 block can also be bored out for the 1200 sleeves.

What is the best priced source for the kit with sleeves? I have no idea how much they go for these days- thanks for the info so far though!
