What's the worst bike...

...you ever looked at.

5-6 years ago I get a call from an older person wanting to sell a gold wing cheap. He did say it was rough from being outside for a few years...

...$100 is cheap even for a rough goldwing - so my son and I load up the trailer and go look. His house is a run down farm building surrounded by worse condition shacks. He leads us back past a couple of collapsed buildings and points to this bike embedded in the ground. All you see less than half the bike above ground. According to the owner it was parked up about 10 years previous and fell on it's side and stayed there. We opted to leave it... I wish we could have given it a full burial...

I don't know if it's the worst bike I've ever looked at but it's for sure is the worst looking bike I've ever bought. But for $50.00 I suppose it was worth the effort of getting a backhoe to pick it up out of the building that had fallen down around it.

These pics have been described as like a where's Waldo sort of thing before.

Hey Geoff, I somehow think I may need a bit more than peanut oil to bring this one back. But can I suggest a new avatar for you?

i have a 11/73 z1e in my shed /shop right now that had been in a fire then left outside for 9 yrs....i really wish i'da taken a picture before i took it apart...hindsight...even the coils and the nylon worm drive that the clutch cable hook onto were melted....tires cooked...grommets baked ect...it was in a garrage with a whole group of kz's when the garrage burned..i was told that a while later the owner passed and the bike was pushed under a tree for years....
the motors insides look brand new....

It may not be the worst bike ever, but I thought it was funny nonetheless. I responded for an ad for a 1982 GPz550 that was "ready for safety, ride it home" I get there and I sit on the bike and almost fall off because the seat won't clamp onto the frame. Shortly after this the shift lever falls off, and best yet, the guy had no key!

Craig is there any chance they were deep frying a turkey with peanut oil in the garage that burnt down

These clowns had a major fire and a firefighter got hurt during this stunt on a local radio station last month. Criminal charges are pending on the DJ that did this. Thats right "peanut oil" did this

Well I do keep trying to tell you guys that Peanut Oil is pretty hot stuff.

I am going to hit that old airbox again tonight and if I have any oil left I will fry some chicken for my dinner.

Back to the subjest.

I was told there was a low mileage 350 Honda SuperSport near me.

I went to check it out and it had been sitting in a pine grove 20+years. The chain had rusted and i had to winch it onto the trailer.

I gave the owner 10 bucks for it.

I parted it out on eBay and i forget what i made but it was around $750.00. The tank went for $250.00. :woohoo:

The front forks brought about the same and the exhaust brought over a hundred. Roy

Is that so? I have a friend that has a Honda 350 four that is in the condition Jeff spoke of. I have looked at the bike extensively thinking the same thing but I did not think anything was salvageable on the bike. And it is complete. I could probably get the bike for 10 bucks to. I may have to take another look at it now that I know what some of the parts are worth. You got me thinking now
