I had to buy another Thunderbird Sport, seem to be appreciating in price over here and they are a great ride.
All the attributes of a modern bike, great brakes, good handling, good riding position and will give a lot of "sports" bikers a bit of a shock.
Triumph have been producing some great bikes since their reincarnation. Made in the UK but I would suspect with many Jap parts.

Hey man, don't say sorry - they are nice bikes and I would own one too. I have never seen one of those before, but I like the thruxtons and bonnies. The only time you would need to apologize would be if you got a bike with the OTHER kind of twin motor, and you would need to apologize only to yourself.

She's an 885cc. triple
Carburetted model with Keihin CVK36's, conventional airbox- the chrome air filter cover is just for decoration to give it the look of the 60's bikes.
I an told that Triumph bought a lot of technology from Kawasaki prior to the re-birth.

Yes the new one is a twin and in my opinion a bit of a tame letdown and very ordinary cruiser.
Triumph seem to have got it right with most of their range as can be seen by their sale figures.

I reckon they should have stuck with a triple engine for this new Thunderbird- 1600cc Triple would be brilliant.
The Rocket 3 is a 2300cc Triple and the acceleration 0-60 is absolutely awesome for such a large beast- pretty close to an R1. Handles so much better than an HD but so does my truck!!!

Thats a cool looking bike. I see you have a red one now a yellow one. How many colors do they come in and are you gonna buy one of every color? Are you gonna build an addition to the garage to store these beautys? Is that the same motor as the speed triple?

Hi Kawickrice
Luckily they only came in the two colours until 1999, after that they changed the design to mufflers either side but in my opinion it detracts from the character of the bike.
In 1998 & 1999 they were built in red & black and in yellow & black (funny thing colours I really prefer red & black but when you see them for sale the guys with the yellow & black models always seem to say "the best colour", guys with the red& black don't need to say anything).
They were sort of designed to represent the Triumph Hurricane triple of the 70's and in fact I have bought some exhausts from D&D which have three megaphone mufflers hanging on the right hand side- they look great and sound awesome if you you like the D&D sound

the d&d exhaust sounds awesome on that engine i've put a few on over the years the t-bird has been in canada since at least 1994 or 5 when they first came over they were this really ugly brown color but a few years in they started playing with a lot crazy color schemes and yes they did share quite a few parts from kawi, valve train componets oil filters and many other items. worked on them for 2 years when they first came to canada
