Well, I'm new here, just made my profile. my dad told me to go to this site to find info on the KZ motorcycles. He has a 81' KZ1000. But, i'm looking at a motorcycle on craigs list right now. Started riding last summer. Got my permit as soon as i turned 14. I REALLY want a motorcycle to ride next summer. I'm looking at a 1977 KZ750. Not sure what model it is, E or j or whatever. Its shiny and it looks really nice for its age. I was just wondering, Does the bike have any history of transmission failure or Crankshaft bending or anything along those lines? I know that the old KZ1000s Have transmissions That are made out of weak metal or something and the shifting forks bend. Also, Outta Curiosity, Are the mufflers removable from the headers? I kinda want To turn it into a bobber/cafe racer all in one sort of thing. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
KT
Hi KT,
Kawasakis don't have a reputation for weak transmissions, not in the least!
Most bent shifter forks are damaged through abuse, or sometimes during a fall.
