KZ noob with dumb question

Hi, i keep seeing all these different letters after the the size of the bike and was wondering how to figure out what mine would be. My 83 750 spectre is that an N? i also have a 78 KZ650 with regular spoked wheels and the tail piece and small mud gaurd, KZ650B? my dad just bought a 78 750 twin, what is that called? im sorry for this dumb question but i gotta start somewhere, lol. i have been snatchin these bikes up cheap and i really like em, but im have virtually no knowledge of them as i have never had one. thanks in advance for your help, tyler.

This KZ650 site will explain everything, it's an excellent resource! Others will have to chime in about the 750's.

Kawasaki.com should be helpful as well in determining the model designation of a particular bike. I find it easiest to search by year only without entering a vin or anything.

Other ways sometimes helpful toward identifying a particular model ---

Do a Google Image search, such as "1978 KZ1000-D1" which should return pictures of the cafe racer model.

Or go to "Filebase" under "KZ Information" in the green ribbon toward top of screen, and choose the year and model. Sometimes a picture is available for download.
