Bike's i may be adding to the stable!!!

well, i have decided that since im a broke college student i need to resort to what i do best. Part out motorcycles. While searching for bikes i found a few that i want to keep whole and add to the collection. I found a good overall running 79 kz1000 shaft. I know its not a very desireable bike, but for the $350 he is asking you cant go wrong. Then i found, what is supposedly a kz900 for $800. Runs crappy, but complete. I asked for the vin number, and i discovered that it is actually a 74 z1a. It has a kz900 tank and mag rims. I am currently nearly broke, but my buddy will be snatching it up before it is gone. Pretty good deal for these bikes? As for the shaft i will buy it, part all the excess junk, and have a nice little cruiser

Way to go. Why cant I find cheap bikes. Last one I looked at was a totally junk 750 which I though I could use as a parts bike and the guy was holding firm at $750.

dude the bags are the shit...a shafty with bags and a orignal vetter fairing goes together like a 900 and a kerker......can anyone say weekend road trip....or camping cross country...get all old schoolin laid back and turn on the radio....i dig it big time....great bike...seat and all....perfect old school commuter.....do a 300 miler before stripping her at least.....craig

I too here in Az found what the guy was stating was a 1974 Z 900 for $1k... The blurry images he posts says otherwise...

I commented and queried for more info due to the fact that this bike seemed to be a 1976 KZ900 LTD... His reply, well it has a '75 motor in it...

OK, my reply was.... It has a 76' LTD frame with a '75 motor, how the hell did you come up with a '74 Z series?:blink: :huh: :dry: :S

BTW, it was a non runner so for $1k, naw I'll wait to find the right one.... I figure for between $1-2K this would be a fairly decent running KZ900/1000.... I tried talking the guy down on his asking price but he felt he was sitting on a gold mind... Gave him my number just the same...

yes, i thought it was a great deal too. We agreed on $450 as he is meeting me halfway. The bike is located in damn near canada. My buddy who bought the 900 will be making his intro very soon. OMR, the bike you referred to in near tucson is the one he purchased
