Does This Key Fit Your Bike?

Hi, I'm looking for the owner of this bike. I bought a 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD from Kawasaki of Swansea, Ma. in May of 1980. Sold the bike in 1990 to someone in Swansea. Then the bike was later sold to Jim Macintosh, also of Swansea. Bike was crashed into a guardrail, not by jim. Unfortunately Jim passed away several years ago. I've talked with family members and no one seems to know what happened to the bike. I would like to purchase this bike back if I can find it. It's was Sundance blue, had a Kerker Header and a small Sissy bar when sold. The key number is Z5418. If anyone can help me find my old bike or if you have it I'd like to hear from you. If you have paperwork with the VIN number maybe you could get info from the DMV, otherwise it will be a shot in the dark. The bike must mean alot to you to try to find the same exact one, or maybe you had money stashed in the frame or something.

No money in the frame! Don't have the V.I.N either. I just figured that the bike is probably still local and maybe I could find it! I know LOTS of Kawasaki riders read this forum so it was my best chance, Gerry

They have those CARFAX reports for cars, maybe they do bikes? Might be easier with the VIN but your State may have this in their records.

Is the Kawasaki shop where you bought the bike from still in business? If so maybe they can find the vin. Have you been scouring the local craigslist ads

It's a Suzuki shop now, same owners, no records. I check craigslist all the time, Gerry
