We shall see. I have no doubts that the wing will last just as long (probably longer) and be just as trouble free as the kz would have. I get the most joy out of taking long trips down the open road and several weekend excursions and this wing just seems to cater to my needs a little better.
It is pretty crazy though because when I got my first bike at 18 i promised myself i would never get a big dressed out bike. Now I am only 20 and pretty happy with my trade.
You might want to check Guiness Book of records because you might be the youngest Full Dress rider in the country. You are headed down a slippery slope. What is next a Trike Kit, Helmet with speakers and big foam covered microphone, heated seat, a trailer hitch and matching color coordinated outfits for you and your girl? Does it have a cup holder and cigarette lighter?....
Just messin with you. Now save up and buy a KZ for a second bike and keep us updated on weather you like the Wing better or miss the KZ...Russ

Oh and the wing has a cup holder and cigarette lighter already. Yes it is a slippery slope. I am hoping to have multiple bikes but for now I have to choose what works the best for me and my wife.

You must be newly married.
We older and wiser folks would say something like....
"I have to choose what works best for MEEEEE!!!!!!    :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I swear to God, it's like I live in a trailer of common sense, and stare out the window at a tornado of stupidity.

In general, I applaud you for doing what you wanted to. Some people much older than you can't learn to trust their gut. good on ya.
You should be able to trade out of the wing when/if you ever get ready and still get most of what you have in it back out - maybe more?
Post an occasional update to let us know how it is working out.
by the way, Randakk's caters to all things Wing:

recently i took a 300 mile ride on my kz which is rigid ride and while walking away streching my back into place wondering why i went so far and then i turned around and saw what i was riding. enough said.
The other day I went out for a 350 mile jaunt with my dad, him on his '03 Bimmer 1150RT and me on my '75 Z1 with a windshield (also has a cig lighter! :woohoo: ) and about 40 miles from home, he was hurting and I wanted to keep riding  . The Z1 is nippy enough to keep up with the bmw and occasionally zipping by at 70mph in second gear keeps it entertaining enough that I don't mind longer rides on a bike that isn't exactly built for long dist touring. I do like long distance rides but I think I'd get bored on a wing.
On the upside, if you do get a little KZ you could even start convincing your wifey that it would be that much more fun if she was riding her own bike
Good luck with the wing!

I am kind of attracted to the GL1000 naked wings myself. I am thinking of an iron butt 1000 this fall and have sort of poked around craigslist for a gl1000, but haven't found anything close by for low enough price...
I'd suggest putting out an ad saying you're interested in a GL in good shape for a reasonable price, etc. That's how I got my first Z1. Couldn't hurt!

That is the plan. A kz250 or 440 would be perfect for her to start on. If not then i wouldnt mind riding it either. Something light that i can just take around town.On the upside, if you do get a little KZ you could even start convincing your wifey that it would be that much more fun if she was riding her own bike
Or just get a zx10 and fly around town.
