Not me - I've had a motorcycle license continuously for the past 41 years! In fact, due to the oddities of the British licensing system, I had a motorcycle license BEFORE I had an automobile license!

Go take the safety class - not only will it get you that endorsement, it will also lower your insurance costs! (Not to mention peace of mind.)

I dont ride yet.I am getting an endorsement in Sept. Taking BRT Class. I know of a few dummys that ride without Proper legal papers such as insurance and endorsement. I currenty have my motorcycle insured for $98.00 a year through Formost Insurance Company. But I have to wait till next month to ride my KZ650 after I get my Endorsement. My agent already gave my the discount for the class I haven't taken yet. What a nice guy. :woohoo:

I paid $1.00 for my endorsement when I got my learners permit many moons ago. I have been riding every since, my brother on the otherhand let his expire 10 years ago and now has to pay the money and take the class. He is riding without one and has not been caught YET.

When I was young I did lots of stupid things. It is a different world today. Why risk it? The short time you have left to wait might teach you a little patience. Don't do it...Russ

If you are young you will get a big fine. They will impound your bike. Another fine. They might tow it with straps and scratch the shit out of it. It will sit out in the rain in some impound yard until you get insurance, liscense etc...More Fines! It will not run the same as when they towed it. You will feel like an ass telling your friends and family what happened. Everytime that cop sees you he will follow you and pull you over because he does not trust you. Your insurance guy will drop your policy. Your new policy will be higher. Is it really worth the risk? It happend to me about 30 years ago...Russ

If your system is anything like ours (Europe) getting pulled over and getting a fine is the least of your worries, you're more than screwed if you get involved in an accident and hurt someone. Over here no license = no insurance, even if you paid.

Picture this: you're out riding, hit some gravel in a turn and go down. Not a big deal as such except the bike slides across the street, up the pavement and cripples a pedestrian. The pedestrian will get compensation, but then the insurance company will come looking for you to get their money back, and they won't quit, ever.

What could that end up costing you? 1, 2, 3 hundred grand or more? Owing that kind of money you will never own a house or be able to get a credit card or a bank loan or take your girl out to dinner, basically your financial life is over (not counting the moral consequences mind you). Depending on circumstances you could also end up doing time, making it hard for you to find a job to pay back the several hundred grand etc, etc.

Worst case scenario? May be, but these things do happen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no angel - back when I started I rode for three years without a license/insurance, but I smartened up, decided it wasn't worth the risk and went legit.

Here in OryGun the fine for riding without an endorsement is $750.00. There are a couple of bills in Oregon's legislature right now to mandate safety training, no matter what your age.

KZCSI

Did I mention that OryGun's a BLUE state?
