Getting ready to buy a manual for my 78 650.As i noticed there is a couple differant kinds.Can someone tell me the differance in,repair manual,shop manual,and parts manual.And which one is best.Im wanting it so incase i need to change cam,or wire,or replace something,something that will tell me how to,s covering all bases.Thank you

the stock kawi one is the best but if you can't get one of those then i'd go for the cylimer or a n older chilton before i went to a haynes nothing against the haynes but they are printed in england and some of there termonology is a might strange personally i have used all make and manner of them and i think any manual is better than none.

Is your bike a KZ650 B2, B2A, C2, or D1? It matters when picking the correct manual. Check this link is you're not positive:

The terms "shop manal" and "repair manual" refer to the same thing. These are the manuals that provide specifications and procedures for maintenance and repair. You need one. The factory manual (printed by Kawasaki) is the most complete, the most useful and the most expensive. The other manuals mentioned above will get you through most basic operations, but you will eventully need the factory book.
A parts manual is just that, a big book listing all the parts and their numbers. Kawasaki has all that info online for free.
