Hi, I have read that many people swap the original KZ swingarms on their bikes for GS1100 units. I understand that this gives almost 2 inches length over the kz1000 arm. The GS units also look aluminum, are they lighter than the KZ swingarms? Would the added length make the bikes handling suffer much? I understand it would be better suited for dragging, but I would be afraid of the handling sucking...

GSX swing is a pretty easy swap (if swapping ever is easy). I used to have a GSX1100 ´90 swing and it´s 2" 50mm longer than stock. It´s alu of course and much lighter. Makes the bike longer and therefore heavier to steer on twisties. On the other hand if you like drag-look thats what you get with it but I changed to ZRX11 ´99 swing. IMO it´s the one and only for an ELR
