I ran out of parts so while I was waiting I thought I would take a wire wheel to the motor. After burning up one Dremmel tool and going through about six types of wire wheels, I got it cleaned up a bit.

I'm not patient enough to do a perfect job but I feel better about it now. :P

When I pulled the exhaust off I was shocked at the condition of the front of the motor. Now it's ok. :)

I was just at the hardware store trying to figure out which dremel attachement would be best for cleaning the engine. Which ones worked best for you?

As soon as I found the right wheel to use it was all good no scratches at all.

I knew I should have taken a pic of it. I got it in a set from true value hardware. The bristles on it are about an inch long. I tried all of the dremmel brand wheels and brushes and they all fell apart real fast. This one I got held up and I was able to go over the whole motor without it coming apart. I also took out all the dullness and small scratches from the other ones I tried. If I remember I'll get a pic and a brand name and post up the info. I'll never use dremmel wire wheels again.

Here's a pic of the brush. I couldn't find the box but Tru Value has them in a set.
