Tail/Saddlebags was created by DoubleDub
Planning a trip up to Thunder Bay and beyond in September. I need to get some rear luggage to make the trip. What kinds of saddle and tail bags fit nicely on the KZ's? I'll only do long trips riding solo so bags that fit over the passenger area of the seat work for me (stock flat Kz A type seat)...
Thanks guys!

Not expecting it to be real warm, but that's the only time my buddy could go due to recent birth and work. I figure a trip is a trip and I won't pass it up. It should be nice views at least. We're planning on camping too, thus the need for more luggage space (due to the temps and what-not).

I've had my eye on Motogear saddlebags for a while - no one has posted anything about them that I'm aware of, though.

Where do you live? I have a rear luggage rack with big ass trunk mounted on it that I took off of my 1000LTD. I plan on using it next year when I ride to Alberta, but I could lend it to you in the meantime. It aint pretty, but it's a universal mounting k&g typem the lock works and it would be free!

I just looked and I guess you live in Wisconsin...not sure where that is relative to me, but if you are cruising through the area (southeastern ontario, east of toronto) I would ahve no probs lending it to you.

Thanks, 9am, probably won't work out.
JMKZHI, those look very reasonable for the price. I'll see if anyone locally carries those and try to check them out in person. They are definitely cheaper than the Cortech and Tourmaster bags that everyone seems to carry.

I bought some universal ones for my 79 kz1000. I bought a big set of bags on ebay.
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7pc-Leather-Moto...fPartsQ5fAccessories
Only 4 of the bags fit, but it was a nice solution. I can travel with a lot more stuff now and they aren't too hard to put on.
I like those nylon ones someone posted, I might buy those and try them out. No matter what you do these bags will look out of place.
One warning. Watch where your tailpipe is relative to the bags. First time i strapped mine on and drove a few hundred miles i gave it a couple of inches of space between tailpipe and bag. When i got to Austin my bags were smoldering. :side: Luckily i just had my bedroll there. Now i cinch it up a bit higher and haven't had a problem. I think it was because the kerker header points up a bit, but still, watch your tailpipe.
