KZ1000 Shaft was created by gvsu141
I am considering buying a 1980 kz1000 shaft (e2 i believe), with about 38000 on it, and a vance and hynes 4:1. It has a full faring and also has bags for the back that is not on the bike. The guy is asking 1000 for it. I am wondering what these bikes are fetching, and if these bikes are worth the same as the other model kz1000's

always buy a mark II if you can afford it.
parts alone are worth the asking price.
if your real good, you can get it for $600-700.
a steal for a running complete mark II.

its not a mark II, though. It is an e2, which looks similar but is shaft. i just dont know if this would be worth the money or not.

Looks like it has round ends on the cam cover. That would mean the head has been replaced.

Ha,beat me to it! However, the shaft bikes still had the good MKll cases and cranks. The Z1/MKll cylinder heads are the same as far as valves ,airflow etc. just cosmetic diffrences.
