What type of helmet do you rock???

Hey guys I was looking for a helmet to buy and thought I would get a concensus of what types of helmets guys rock on thier KZ's(full face, half face, half helmet, etc..)
Thought it would be an interesting topic!!

I have two, a DOT puddin bowl by HCI (a.k.a. cheap Chinese piece of shit that probably would cause more head trauma in a crash than not wearing it...hence I don't wear that one much!!!) and my daily HJC SNELL/DOT full face. I've been through quite a few, usually replace them about every 2 years because the padding starts to give and they don't fit right. I've had a few KBC, Vega, HCI, Fulmer, and this is my first HJC. Of them all the HJC definitely has the best airflow, doesn't fog as bad, and feels a bit lighter than the others on the head. Here's a stock photo of what I'm rockin..

Fullface Shoei RF1000

Fullface HJC now...in the past, fullface Shoei and fullface Bell...note the 'fullface'...I have been in enough accidents to realize that the fullface has saved my head...an open or half helmet would have not saved my face (and I am very very pretty)

There are several top quality helmets available in both full and open face models.

A comfortable fit is critical. Different brands, and even different models of the same brand, have different shape contours and internal padding. Not all are equally comfortable or equally well-fitting on all heads, regardless of the "correct" head size.

Bottom line -- select a top quality helmet that best and most comfortably fits you personally, regardless of brand.

I have two "Simpson" "Furrys". I had HJCs but they never fit right. Loose in some spots and tight in others. I like the light composite construction of the Simpson.

Arai, the best well constructed helmet I have ever worn.

Scorpion EXO1000 was a replacement for my EXO700. It rocks. Very comfortable, quieter then the 700. It's even got that nifty sun shade. DOT & Snell. Definitely recommend trying them out.

I had a Bell fullface in the 80's that saved my life when I t-boned a dumptruck. I had to do a controlled slide to keep from being decapitated. The helmet and my bike was destroyed but my head was saved. When searching for my last helmet, I was having flashbacks and wanted another Bell because I believe the Bell saved my life, but determined that the Bell was not the same quality as it used to be in my opinion. So I bought a Shoei. Helmets have sure gone up in price, but head protection is priceless.

You can buy Bell Motorcycle helmets at Walmart. That pretty much sums up Bell real quickly. There are different features for different helmets of course, and generally more $$ will equal a better helmet. I got an Arai Quantum II a few years ago and have been pleased with it. The wife has a Shoei RF1000 so I can kind of compare the 2 side by side. I think the Arai is a lot better helmet all the way around personally.

shoei rf900 miguel duhamel replica....gold tinted visor xxl......if you have not already bought a helmet search e-bay under the name brand and size...like say...."shoei xxl used"....or ...arai large used......whatever, but limit it to one brand and size per search and include used....some guys get a helmet and wear it three or four times and it is not right for them...or the bike gets sold,stolen,wrecked...ect....or they trade bikes and want a new clolor...anyway...you can get some 600 helmets for 150 -200 and they are great shape....i paid 150 for this one with extra sheilds and it was brand new...for all i can tell he claimed 300 miles and it shows to be true...i've bought three times this way and got sweet deals...my 2 cents.....p.s this is the best helmet i;ve ever owned google the reviews for ti and see what others say too....good luck...craig
