Loud pipes and unwanted attention. was created by Mortarmanmike
I really didn't want to revive the last infamous 'Loud Pipe' thread as it had been thoroughly beat to death. Caught this over on the Buell forums thought ya'll might be interested.

I'm not here to debate whether the standard is appropriate. From what I've read this standard will make enforcement easier and thus much more likely. Even though the numbers seem arbitrary, it will no longer be a subjective tes. I'm betting cities and municipalities will be much more likely to pass anti-noise ordinances now that an established standard exist. I'm also betting cops will be much more likely to enforce them.

Ya'll have a good day,
Keep the shiney side up.

Sorry if it ruffled your feathers. Just because a topic has been beat to death in the past we should just ignore new information? That is what this category is for right? Bike related information. Seems pretty bike related to me. Seems pretty current as well.

I was just trying to spread the word on something of interest to bikers, not reopen the loud pipe debate. If I'd wanted to do that I'd have just posted it in the old thread. Then again I'd have deprived you of your opportunity to post your clever "Aw Jeez" pic.

People can think about it what they will. They can debate the usefulness of loud pipes till the cows come home. While they're debating it, others are creating standards to regulate it. Thats what I was doing. Reporting a new standard to people I thought might give a shit.

My feathers aren't ruffled. I have no problem with it at all. As a matter of fact I find it entertaining to hear peoples views, even when heated. The First Amendment is Freedom of Speech. Let the games begin. B) B) B) B) B) B)

You are lucky it's only a clever picture and not some vaguely related 10 minute boring video link from someone verbally challenged.  ;)
