Next I have a few of my new bike, and some related questions...first off, here is a general pic of my 82 kz1000 LTD. I have since the pic added a sissy bar, because my GF is a ... sissy.

Notice the brake fluid, and the cigarette butt. I made sure to include them for context. My bike was previously owned my some douche bags so it was poorly maintained and is a bit of a basket case...Next I have a shot of the headers...

is there anyway of removing that rust? I was thinking of some acid and then follow up with some WD40 and 2 stroke oil and steel wool, but not sure if anything can remove that stuff. I plan on doing some band-aid cosmetic work so I can get by for a while not looking too hideous, but will eventually remove the engine and clean the rust and crap off the frame as well; I feel a connection to this bike even though it is costing my a lot of money, so I plan on keeping her for a while.
Next I have a crappy shot of a botched "gasket" job.

that black stuff is the oil that leaked out after the original gasket bled all over the place. Will WD40 remove that pink stuff when I clean the black stuff from the engine?

I've had pretty good success using naval jelly to remove rust of of header pipes.

Also, lets say I got the exhaust off and removed the rust, could I then seal it and protect it with some of that VHT clear stuff and polish that up to make it look somewhat shiney?

Also, Order yourself some new exhaust header gasket manufactured to the specs of OEM part number 11009-1906.
Jeff @ Z1 should have them...

I have some PB Blaster for the bolts, but they look more like nuts on studs than bolts...how can I remove the studs to replace them?
Oem is nuts on studs.
Studs usually not replaced where remain serviceable.
Removal of stud risks breaking it off even with head.
Where stud threads are stripped so that double nutting is unfeasible, I believe there's a special stud gripper tool available
Good Luck!
