1978 KZ750 twin opinions.............

I'm spying one of these on Clist for a decent price. So, what's the story on these 750 twins? The good, the bad, the ugly? I need something to tide over my riding addiction while the LTD1000 is all over my garage. Any and all opinions are welcome and appreciated.

I really like mine. I dig it more for the nostalgia and uniqueness than the performance and handling. It won't win any prizes for either but I haven't seen another in my 'hood so I like that.

I flogged an LTD version for about ten years and have no regrets. It was very reliable and easy to ride. If you enjoy the twisties, you will find the frame too flexible and the suspension a bit weak. Toward the end of my ownership the seat foam was getting a bit thin, and I was surprized that I got less than 18,000 miles out of the drive belt. Overall though, I made a lot of good memories on it and I could blow my buddy's Virago 750 into the weeds!

I liked mine a lot, just a fun little cruiser with tons of low end torque, very good for in town stuff as you can roll on from 20mph in 5th without a stutter. Not much power in the top end though, fastest i ever had mine going was just under 100 and that was pushing it hard
