Low-sided the KZ!

Well, I did just that. I put the KZ to the tarmac this weekend coming home from work (first time for the bike and third time for me).
I came around a right-hand blind corner at about 40mph (posted 35mph) and road over some gravel and low-sided the bike and myself. I was on the inside lane and the bike slid on its right side across both lanes and then flip onto the left side when it slid down an embankment into a soybean field. So, the right side is scratched up and left side is dirty and bent up. I stayed on the road and slid on my back/right side to a stop. My gear did its job and I never hit my head on the pavement nor did I roll (ATGATT!!!). No broke bones, just a little rash. I was fortunate that no other cars were involved or coming in the other lane that the bike and I slid into. I never saw the gravel, just went down. In fact, I thought the bike broke (chain broke/engine seized both which have happened to me before) since it all happened so quickly. No wobbly bars, no chance to save it.
While waiting for my pickup to arrive, I picked the bike and bent some stuff to get to the controls to work and rode the bike about 100 yards in a soybean field until I got to the road. KZ are tough!
I have everything to replace the broken parts except the taillight lens and the left front foot peg. I have Paypal so if anyone has the parts, please let me know. I haven't crashed in 13 years and hopefully this is the last...

One, your still healthy and that's something good for you and your family. Secondly, the bike can always be repaired back to a healthy state as well...
Yeah I know, these words don't do a lot for you right now and well that just sucks...

Sorry to hear that man! Another member here did almost the same exact thing awhile back and he's OK and the KZ is running again. Glad your fine and I know your KZ will be back up and running soon. Been down myself and it sucks! Good luck....
I resemble that remark. :Mark
