If you're referring to the price you need to understand that there's a HUGE difference between US and European prices. The pic below shows my 650 when I bought it some 6 years ago - I paid $ 3,400 for it and got a bargain too, over here a 650 in decent running condition will sell for 4 grand all day long, a 900 or 1000 can easily fetch 5 - 10 grand, new bikes forget about it, as of today a 2008 ZX-10R will set me back $ 40,000. I get green with envy when I see you guys posting about $ 50 or $ 100 bikes, just ain't gonna happen over here.

To give you a basis of comparison I make around $ 27 an hour of which I get to pay close to 45 % in income taxes, after which I get to pay 25 % sales tax on everything I buy, be it milk, smokes, bread, gas or bikes.

Wow it sounds like I need to get a container, load up all my bikes and ship them to Denmark. Maybe I could trade a few for one of those blonde godesses you seem to have in abundance over there.B) Based on the prices you are quoting it's no wonder the guy from Denmark who bought my KZ900 last year was so happy with it. I'm sure he has put a good bit of money in it to get it to look like it does now but from the sound of it he will be able to get it back if he ever decides to sell it.

Your tax system sucks, I guess I should be glad I don't make over $220,000 while living here because then Obama would want to tax me like you get taxed.

No sweat, you couldn't know, even I find it hard to believe. We have some crazy import and registration tax rules, new vehicles face a 180% (onehundred and eighty percent) registration tax - as for used vehicles, I could buy a $ 600 bike from the US like you did and have it shipped over here. If i just want a parts bike that's it (except I get to pay import tax of the shipping costs), but if I want to get it registered and licensed in Denmark I have to pay tax fees based on the current estimated trading price in the DK which means a $ 600 bike could end up costing me close to 3 grand - only comforting circumstance is that when I crash it I get medical attention for free...

Andy, it sounds like a plan but you wouldn't be making any money, nor would I, my government would be skimming the fat. And yeah, every now and again I think our tax system sucks too, but some ten years ago when my younger brother went through major cancer surgery and recovery training for free it all seemed to make sense...

OnkelB since you seem to have a pretty good handle on bikes prices over there, What do you think this bike would fetch now? It has 6000 original miles on it.

Man, that's a BEAUTIFUL bike! After seeing how much they're asking for that KZ650, you should be able to trade that 900 for a chalet next to a lake in Denmark. Ed

Ed I sold that bike last year at Mid-Ohio to a guy from Denmark. He shipped it home and restored it to the way it looks now. When I sold it it looked like this.

He did a great job on that bike, absolutely gorgeous.

If the right buyer comes along I wouldn't be surprised to see that bike sell for somewhere between 10 and 14 grand maybe more given it's condition and low miles.

Ingo, who used to own Klasmo, has this '76 900 A4 for sale on a Danish KZ website - it's beautifully restored but not 100% original (has ss brake lines, aftermarket shocks etc.) He's asking $12,200 before Danish taxes. :S

Thanks for the info, interesting to know. You should take a ride up and see him, I think at one time you told me he was only about 100 miles away from you. He also has a nice restored H-2 a 750 Yamaha a GT750 Suzuki he is restoring and some more I don't remember. He's a really nice guy.
