Yeah, I remember reading that a number of years ago and she appears to have added a bit to her home page (at least I don't remember the piece on the Ukrainian unrest).

I watched an interesting program on National Geographic about how the area in and around Chernobyl has become a makeshift animal sanctuary. The only abnormalities that could be found in any of the animals, besides high radiation levels, was that certain worms went from reproducing asexually to male-female reproduction.

This is a great read. Lot's of good pictures. I really liked her story about going into the bunkers around Keiv searching for WWII items.
It's pretty wild that they dig up things and they might come across a body or an unexploded shell.

It's an interesting story except for the part about the chick touring the closed areas on a motorcycle. That part of it's all fabrication. It was exposed years ago.
