well i wouldn't mind finding an original tank and side panels rear tail. as you can see from the picture the right side of the tank has a small ding in it.

I have a 79 LTD KZ1000 and the engine is black. Granted some of the paint is peeling off, but now I want to check the serial number on the engine and make sure its the original.

As you are sitting on the bike, look down and to your right beneath the carb on the engine case...there will be a raised embossed area...you'll need all the numbers, not just the prefix series.
