Don't worry about it my friend. We're all here for the same reasons. I don't really want to ride the stuff, just build it. I want to end up designing and building open wheel racecars or GP bikes, dont know how likely that is though.

No...you are right. You don't have a life! Ya know how I know? Same problem on this end. Can't seem to leave this computer alone long enough to get anything done and it's catching up to me. So much to do and so many bikes to look at! I feel your pain, brother!

Me personally, think you have it backwards brother....

I'm 50 years old, have served in the military, lived in Europe, traveled & lived many places in the world, am a dad to a lovely daughter which I've fondly raised and have watched over as she enters into adulthood, went to and graduated from college, have bought/fixed up many homes, had partied like a mad man numerous years, now have calmed/toned it down for older and wiser (been there/done that) and now have come back to my roots for which brings us all together here....

Working on these beautiful old, gracious, powerful and mean ass old girl KZ's.... Think about it, take a 30 year old P.O.S. looking and non running bike and turn her back into the powerful raving beauty she was/is....

How much better can it get! ;) B)

All in all, your life is plentiful if you break it down to the lowest concept.... Doing what you love to do and meeting new friends from all over the world... Life is good mi amigo~....

you got it OMR. Im only in my thirties with 4 kids whitch are fun to be with. I bought my first road bike (77 kz650) because it was cheap(400 bucks) but a crazy thing happend. After I got her washed off and a little tlc, I started giving the kids rides around the neighborhood. they love it! cant get enough. especially my 1yr old son. he just repeats "ride.....ride.....ride" everytime he even glimpses the bike in the garage.
all in all, Im thankfull to that dude who bought a new ducati and didnt need his old kz anymore. even though I bought it for me, it has been fun for my whole family!
ride on!

sounds like me as well.
don't get me wrong, i LOVE getting into the throttle sometimes but i also love just building them.
waiting for the mailman if there is not a part i can go get from z1 makes me feel like a little kid waiting for christmas day.
for the most part it is peacefull seeing something i put together with my own two hands come to life.
maybe that explains why i became a auto tech.
( it always amazes me when they run after i take them apart! )
there are so many lost hours either in the garage, basement or at a friends house. way to many to count.

then i either come check this sight or one of the many i am a member of out.
or i call and harass some members here.

trying to divide time between work, family time and kz time is a full time job.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

No life? KZs are life!

Just think, it wasn't all too many years ago that a community of like-minded enthuasists could get together in the comfort of their own homes and exchange ideas and information. I can't imagine trying to revive these old machines without this community to draw upon and the parts resources it has spawned.

A KZR racing team does sound like a good way to burn through some excess cash and time. :D

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.

For sure, we could send each part to the guy who's best at fixing it. We could share the work, and meet at a track somewhere to share in the glory!
