Vermont roads you have to ride. was created by Vter Bob
This road starts (or ends) at my best friends doorstep. Vermont Rte 17 claims quite a few bikes every year. I thought you guys might like to see what it's like. This is not my video. I did pirate it from another website but it is available on Youtube.

Of much more concern to me riding in Vermont are deer and lately turkeys (the fowl kind) not to mention the tourist who think nothing of stopping their car in the middle of one of those blind curves to take a picture of the pretty tree...

I've been to Vermont a few times to visit a friend. Sadly he's passed away.
Never on a motorcycle though.
It is a very beautiful area.
How long is the Winter (non bike riding season) in Vermont?

There are two seasons in Vermont, Winter and the Fourth of July..... :P

I'll ride as long as it is 50 or above, so riding season will start late March and will ride into late October or early November.

That's just about the same riding season I have here on the South shore of Lake Simcoe Ontario.
I Googled Georgia Vermont, and I believe your actually further North than I am.
The wife and I were talking of different areas we'd like to move to when we retire, and I said I'd like to be able to ride more of the year.
I tosed up Vermont as I knew it was a beautiful area, but it seems I wouldn't be gaining any additional riding time there.
Thanks for the info Bob. B)

Thanks for the link to the vid, Bob. That was just waht I needed....considering we northern snow-belters have at least another 2 months of non-riding to wait out. That looks like a great ride. Is it a lot longer than the vid ??? Is the road always that deserted ??

Rick, lets hope for an early spring. Two months makes it sound so far away.....
Route 17 is a bit longer but the parts not in the video are not as twisty. Looking at the angle of the sun I'd say this vid was shot very early in the morning. During the warm weather this road gets a lot of traffic. Lots of that traffic is motorcycle. The sport bike crowd loves this road and the Hurly guys who secretly wish they had a sport bike frequent it also. This is a road to avoid during the foliage season. It is choked with tourist who really do stop right in the middle of a curve, get out of their cars and stand in the road to take pictures. If you look on the left side of that web sites window you will see some additional video's. One or two of them show the result of having more bike than ability...
