Z1000 - Am I a heretic?

As some may know - I'm in the middle of 2 KZ1000 builds and have a couple of KZ1000s. The KZ1000 - A passion i am proud of.

While searching for another set of forks for the second build, I found this Z1000, so i found a way to get it. Now i'm not a fan of the Z1000, but this one caught my eye, was local, and really hit me as the progression of the KZ1000, which would make a nice rider and a comparison to the other bikes.

I trust that you will not deem me a heretic to the KZ belief. My heart is still KZ1000.... maybe I can add a "K" in front of the Z1000 decal :dry:

click on the image and see what came with this bike... 3 sets of forks, 2 sets of wheels and nice mods.

The extra wheels may reach out to a KZ project and the forks are ZX6... another possible KZ mod?

I suspect all you will hear from the peanut gallery is jealousy (thinly disguised as scorn)...besides, Mother Kawasaki dropped the Z1000 from NA...I wonder who is controlling marketing...I suspect they need to be replaced.

Well to justify this one - I'm prepping and selling the (whisper) Honda (ends whisper) 900RR that has been sitting around for 3 years - read, the last time I started it.

Some local friends said it wasn't heresy either... they referred to something like lunacy. Anyways... the bike is growing on me.

every one is dif in taste but that black seat cover and tonning down the red on the engine is sweet.....the red seated bikes never made sense to me gs550e, katanas, any others i missed......on ducati o.k i guess...i re-red the extras list...WOW...that stuff has kz-project written all over it...and that steering dampner is toooooo cool...nice score......5000.00????

Yeah - the blackness caught my eye. IMO, this is an ugly bike as it is stock. It is incredible how much the stock 4-4 exhaust weighs... besides being one of the things I thought killed the looks. Good guess on $$ - do you know him

Very nice Z btw! You're right, the Z1000 orig exhaust (and most of the bike) is hideous. Yours looks good

Very nice Z! Given the choice of wrenching on an old bike or riding a new one, I'd rather ride. The Z1000 and the ZRX are both fine examples of a cult bike that's too cool to die.
Its really a bummer that Kawasaki no longer sells either bike in North America.
