Beware the roost! :D

those montana riders are some seriously fast and crazy riders, also idaho ,utah and some guys from california i have done a pro hill climb on a unlimited bike and i can honestly say those boys can ride. i felt like the first time i ever got on a bike ridding against those guys they made me look silly but i also say this for them there was not one of them that said any bad and they all complimented me on the fact that i had never ridden dirt before and for a guy that only drag raced they all figured i had done pretty good. most guy's wouldn't even attempt it my partner in my bike shop has ridden dirt his whole life and he wouldn't even ride the bike on flat ground let alone go up hill with it. it was ablast and win or lose i will do it again. i don't like it when something beats me.

Many moons ago I used to go to hillclimb drag races in Whiteford, MD. They would use several firehoses all linked together as the lane divider and they had a regular drag race light (Xmas tree) to start them up a very steep hill. Some bikes couldn't even make it to the top. However, the big boys were using stripped down Kawasaki 750 2-stroke triples with long swing arms and paddle type tires. Those guys would fly up that hill so damn fast they would hit the kill switch about 50 feet from the top and still end up seriously air-borne when they ran out of hill. They weren't big time pros, but man were they fun to watch. Ed

you would be suprised the front is pretty calm between the long wheelbase and the fact the 120 rear tire is spinning like crazy it stays down pretty good. until you get to the hill of course.

hey roy don't let not being able to throw a leg over it stop you do like i did i'm a short ass 5-9" in order to start my hillclimber i had to stand on my tail gate and kick down and i used a milk crate to climb on it to ride it if i kept it moving it was no problem but if i had to stop i had to some acrobatics to get rolling again overall it was a lot of fun and well worth the grief like i said i'll do it again. don't let fear or broken bones stop you life is way to short and unsure to live with out trying things.

I switched to a newer mx chassis from my old trail bike. I'd stiffen up the rear spring, but then I'd be on my toes all the time. As it is, at 5'10" I can get the front half of both feet on the ground. That includes the sag in the suspension.
