lectron carb set-up

i'm having a tough time trying to figure out the proper needle heights for an older set of 40mm lectrons i bought used a couple of years ago. i was wondering if anybody out in kz land has any info on them as far what needles would be recommended as the motor is running very lean and i don't want to burn it up on the dyno it seems to be idling quite high so i would like to set them up a bit better while i have the engine out modifing the frame.

If useful, this link shows three different size metering rods available, 5400-1(Short), 5400-2(Long), 5400-3(X-Long), and lots of other info.

For anything related to Lectrons,go directly to the source: www.fbg.com . They'll be able to tell you which metering rods and a baseline of setting the rod height. They also offer a couple of very trick adjustment/measuring tools- however they are not cheap.

Timebomb, my 40's have 2.0 rods in them and are definitely old- they were delivered to me at Indy in 1995 or so. FBG should be able to help you with anything you need- I'd talk to Kevin.

And yes, Pollard Nitrosports will be put in 09. Not going to Valdosta for the 1st race in March but looking to Atlanta. We'll be at the London Motorcycle Expo this weekend.
