Time to sell was created by CaptMikeD
Hi everyone. I recently passed my captains master exam and could use the extra money towards a bigger boat for charter work. What is a realistic value I could get for my
77 Kz1000 ltd?
I am the 2nd owner. It has 2035 miles. It's outfitted with 29smoothbores, indv pod air filters, kerker 4-1, clubman bars, avon super venoms, dyna ign, dyna coils, and dyna wires.
I also ave all the original parts including tires and tubes. This bike has an "especilly made for" plate for the original owner on the right side of motor. I love the bike and fire it up regularly but I love the water just a little bit more.

Could that be Florida in the background? As for value, even with the mods, I'd be looking for US$3000-5000 considering the ultra-lo mileage...more if you come across a very hungry buyer (but those generally save their money for Z1's, KZ1000A3/4, and KZ1000R's)...and these are difficult economic times to sell a bike...and how can you possibly make money chartering?...the Feds have virtually shut down fishing:laugh:

i believe this calls for a cooling off period of atleast 10 years before you should sell your bike, that way you can see whats gonna happen with the fishing market! thats a nice looking bike B)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Craiglist is free. You can put it in Walnecks classic cycle trader.Last resort Ebay. If Ebay, list it with a 9.99 start price and a super high reserve( or whatever satifies you). If reserve not met and your happy with the high bid contact the high bidder , Elemanats the outragous final value fees that fleabay charges.
BTW Nice bike !!

Cant go wrong with Craigslist. A buddy of mine listed his old worn out z1 here in South Dakota, and sold it to a buyer/restorer in california.

Craigslist is nothing more than a place where self appointed morons gather. I wouldn't use it for a real sale. Try ebay with a reserve. It's hit or miss at best. Don't let it go cheap....and don't be influnced by what others say. You have the geniune article......if someone wants it they'll buy it.

Spring is the time to sell Skipper, especially now. buyers who can afford toys aren't shopping for a ride they'll have to store. 3 to 5 now should become 5-7 in a couple months.G PS.nice bike.

WOW....that is a nice ride...in my opinion 5k would be a starting price in walnecks or a reserve on ebay...walnecks will give you a lot of exposure as will ebay....walnecks are serious buyers whereas ebay listing has the chance of some daydreaming turd coming clean after the auction saying his old lady will kill him or he doesnt have the money or he thought he was just bidding on a chance to look at it and make a final offer...dont get me wrong, you can make a pile on ebay, but there are risks..
damn,if i wasnt into my bike for so much...........

In Fort Worth there's a very nice shop where they only sell the nicest of used bikes. They do consignments and pick some of them for ebay with really respectable BuyItNow prices. Maybe there's one of these businesses in your area.(?) Good luck. That's an awesome bike you got there! You must really enjoy fishing!
