Sorry Bad Kaw I couldn't resist. But if it makes you feel any better I haven't bought a KZ650 for about 6 months now...
Oh well, heck! Are you okay? Feeling alright? Not sick are you? Is this a bitter time for you? Are you coping? I just don't know how you do it? Poor guy...

I think that meant that someday I'm gonna have my dang 650...and after this pennance that I've been paying amongst MY FRIENDS here, I'd say it's gonna be a nice 'un.

It isn't by choice, at the moment I'm sitting on 2 houses and the prospects for selling the old one look pretty dim. Also Senora Gringo got here a week or so ago so I now have lots of help spending my money.
I thought about calling this guy to find out how soon he has to leave the country. I was going to offer him $400.00 if he didn't get anyone to buy it before he needed to leave with the promise that it would get a good home. Looks like a pretty nice bike but I really don't need another B model.

Which model are you looking for? I have always wondered which of the 3 models is the most sought after.

Oh man! That would be MY BIKE! Naturally it's for sale at CHRISTMAS! Of course I have a bunch of cash burning a hole in my pocket during this time of year...doesn't everyone?!
Quick question: I thought the 'C' models had the Z1 look, but that bike has the look that I want. Am I after a 'B' model? Help a brother out, could ya?
Kawiconvert: I'm after a 650 that looks like a Z-1...and I guess I'm about to find out what model that is. I like the one that The Gringo posted a link to, and it's listed as a 'B', so if that's right, that's the kind I'm after.

Personally I am trying to find the 18" rear cast wheel and the pipes off of a B or C. Something a little more sporty than the quasi-cruiser pipes and wheel that the D models have. Then again, mainly it is the pipes that I would like to find. So far the stock ones I have seen for sale are beat, rusted, expensive, or a combination of all 3.
Hope that you find your bike and the cash to get it with!

I'm really not looking for another one. I have at least one of every type 650 Kaw has ever made B/C/D/F/H. The last ad I saw this guy was looking for the best offer over $700.00. But I figured if he was in a hurry to off it because he had to leave by a certain date and since it isn't exactly prime selling season, he might just take a $400.00 offer. I never really looked into it any more I have too many now.
And yes Bad Kaw if you are looking for a bike with spoke wheels you want a B model.

I believe the C and B are the same other than wheels and dual disc up front. I may be wrong, but that is what I can see.

I think I've got an 18" cast rear wheel kicking around from a '79 C3 model.
Also have a spare 19" front mag from the C3 IIRC.
