:) No-one can hide from me. I see Wiredgeorge on another newsgroup has got himself a 2006 Goldwing. I got a 2008 myself. Hate to say it but the Honda is just *slightly* nicer than a KZ650

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I know WG also has (or at least, HAD) a Voyager. The Goldwing's a really nice bike... Grantl's bro-in-law rides one. He rides it everywhere, and loves piling up the miles on it. When he rides with us, that big bike does a great job leaning thru the twisties.
Don't worry about WG, he'll always keep a few KZs in his stable.

I got a GoldWing and a SilverWing sitting right next to my 3 Kaws. They seem to get along just fine. A Zuki and a Triumph share another cell. Bikes get along just fine it's just people that don't. B)

i have never been one to poke fun at what someone rides.
one of my closest friends rides a 1500cc goldwing and i have ridden it.
i must say i was suprized by the response of the engine but it just handled like a tank to me.

my only comment is :
CONGRATS WG!
you finally hit the age and weight requirement to buy a goldwing.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

I own two KZ900s, a 78 KZ1000A, a 79 KZ1000E1 and an 80 KZ1000E2. When I ride two-up, it has been the 88 Kaw Voyager XII but that bike is a 1988 model and I wanted a newer bike. The Voyager still runs perfectly... just wanted something a bit more fresh. I went up to the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas a few weeks ago and I had thought that a NEW Vulcan 1700 Voyager was in the cards. Well, after taking a close look, I decided that the new Voyager was only a cruiser with some cheap looking plastic hung on. The seat was the real killer. The passenger pillion was narrow and had NO support and the driver seat is V shaped to provide a low seat height. It also didn't allow me to move even 1/2 inch and the tank was right in my crotch. By the way, Kaw is holding release of this model to try and get some of the issues sorted out. We bounced on ALL the touring bikes at the show (except the BMW who did show) and thought the Wing was the most comfortable. The only issue with a new Wing is PRICE... same issue with the Vision and Harley Ultra. The Venture was a contender BUT who wants a cassette player... the bike hasn't changed or upgraded significantly since its release in 1999. The front seat height has been lowered by making the seat a V shape and I have already noted my issue with that. So... when we got back from the show, there was a 2006 Wing with premium audio, comfort and nav. The premium audio has no CB or CD player which is fine by me but does provide a headset jack and cigarette light in the left map pocket. I bought an MP3 player and put a zillion songs on it and stick it in the left map pocket and it places nicely through the bike's audio system. The bike came with floor board and heal/toe shifter and a KuryAkyn trunk rack and the bags that go inside the hardbags. The bike was $14K so I rode over and bought it.

If anyone wants a Voyager, mine is for sale and in the classifieds here on the site. At the price I am asking, it won't last long.
