I'm going to have to cancel. I'm starting to worry that I might not be able to get home on Sunday afternoon.
Right now, the 5/14/210 junction is a mess, and I'm not sure it's going to be better by tomorrow.
I called Grant, and he's also decided to sit this one out.

After talking earlier with you Tim, Rudy (wagonmaster) gave me a call and apparently he wasn't totally aware how of far / fast the fires in Orange County have travelled.
He's going to pass on the ride too.
The current news shows the fire originally started last night in Corona near the 15 / 91 freeway interchange. The strong winds have blown baseball-sized embers into several other cities (Yorba Linda, Brea, Anaheim / Anaheim Hills, La Habra, Chino Hills, etc.) causing it to spread at a breakneck pace!
The last report is that the following freeways have been closed / partially closed:
91 freeway in both directions from the 15 freeway west to roughly about the 57 freeway
57 freeway in Brea and Anaheim
71 freeway (AKA the Corona Expressway) at the 91 freeway
60 freeway near Brea.
Honestly, it looks like we'd end up spending more time trying to find an unobstructed / open route just to be able to meet up for breakfast. Sadly, we'd all likely be worn out before even heading out for the ride itself.
I think it'd be best if we all pass on tomorrows ride and see if we can try to re-schedule it for another day?

Hey All! This is Mrs. Blue Meanie, writing for my hubby. Time he got your message said to tell you he couldn't answer cause he was driving and you know the new law. John suggested that maybe with all the freeway closures that perhaps you guys should reconsider the ride for tomorrow and schedule it for another time. These fires are wreaking havoc, and he says a lot of you have to use the freeways that are shut down. Plus 2 of the guys are for sure not going. He'll be home by 8 pm tonight, so feel free to leave replies.
Thanks!
Mrs. Blue Meanie
Thanks for the heads up Mrs. Blue Meanie!
Please tell John I'll give him a ring sometime around 8 tonight?....thanks again!
I'm going to try to get in touch with JoeK and sweetback to let them know what's going on as well.
I'll post back when / if I'm able to let them both know.

I couldn't get a hold of sweetback because apparently he's changed his number, but I'll shoot him an email to let him know whats up.
Man, this really sucks!
Thankfully I haven't heard of anyone losing their lives in the fires, but I feel horrible about the 1000+ people who've lost their homes and all of their belongings.
