My spare ride has exposed internals and is waiting on the snail mail to deliver three O-rings. Otherwise Mark, you would be welcome to it.

The trooper he is, Mark Wing was able to slap in a set of std KZ650 pistons and std head and yesterday and made it for the ride afterall.
Mark, you da man!
The weather today is great!
To everyone else suffering the beginnings of winter, wish you were here?

Will like R4 said I made the ride after all. It was a great day for a ride, it did get a little hot on PCH. The Rock store wasn't too crowded and a nice size group of 50's/60's Porsche's showed up. The ride was great and the weather couldn't be beat.

Yea, Chris posted while we were all sitting around having a cold one at the Rock Store. He was so proud of being the first to post!:woohoo:
Unbelevable that Mark showed up with his "650"! Like Chris said... he just slapped some 650 pistons and cylinder on his bike and made the ride. I think he got up Sat morning and thought..... what the hell, I got a couple hours before the ride!
It was great to see the guys again, last time I saw them was about 1 1/2 years ago. Missed the last ride due to my accident. Met Chris at his house and we rode in to Santa Monica together, weather was beautiful. We hung out in the parking lot for awhile and went in to have breakfast. As we were ordering Chris yells out... here's Mark! Yup... he made it. Had a good breakfast and some great talk and headed into the hills. Got pretty warm up in them thar hills! Hung out for awhile but I had to leave early to get to work (part time job, economy sucks) Chris, Jon and I bombed down the 101/210 and made everything in time. Like I said, it was really great to see all you guys again. I just wish I didn't have to watch the clock.

With all those squiggly roads in that picture above, looks like there's a bunch of fun roads you are missing. I'd go if I was local.

Great ride all around, but very unusual weather--must have been 85 to 90 degrees up at the rock store. Leaving from breakfast at Denny's we headed down to the 101. As we were riding up the coast, some guy on a Harley was involved in an accident. He had been right in front of us at the entrance to 101 but rode on ahead. Maybe 2 or 3 miles on, we rode up just as he and another motorist were picking up his bike. It's unclear whether he was rear ended or he rear ended someone. The ride up Topanga Cyn and the search for a gas station was fun. The group hung together until we were sure we were truly headed for the Rock Store, then all of a sudden, Chris, Mark, Joe and JohnLA dissappeared. Tim, John, Chuck and I finally caught up at the Rock. I don't know if there is some sort of unwritten rule at the rock that states which kind of bikes show up on which days, but there were hardly any harleys there... Mostly sport bikes. A few did show up, but mostly sport bikes coming and going.
It was great to see the guys again, and have a chance to catch up. Fun ride.

Aside from dropping my bike at Denny's and F*****G up the engine casing, the ride was great! Mark and I headed west on Mullholland and managed to get our picture taken by the

Mark told us at breakfast that his bike with the 650cc parts didn't perform as well as his 750 kit. I said that maybe he'd just be "on the horizon" this time, and not over it. No such luck. As soon as the road got twisty, he was gone. Along with R4, JohnLA, and JoeK. I rode my ride, and had a great time. The rock store's a good destination, and for some reason, not very crowded last Saturday.
The ride home was good, Grantl, Chuck (Grant's bro-in-law on a Goldwing), and I rode thru the Valley via Topanga Canyon. Made most of the lights, and hit the freeways going east and north. About 170 miles for me, and no problems with the bike.
I'm ready for the next ride. Temecula?

Was a bummer you couldn't make it this time, Rudy, you would have had a blast!
And I was looking forward to getting a chance to see "Big Ugly" now that you have it roadworthy. Hopefully we can squeeze in one more ride while the weather is still nice.
If it makes you feell any better, whatever I had for breakfast that day came back to haunt me yesterday - I spent most of the day two-stepping it to the bathroom! :S
Temecula sounds good, Tim. Any ideas on a date?

Yep, it was fantastic to see you all again and finally meeting John AKA(Blumeanie).
I was thinking of wimping out of the Rock Store ride because I was having turn signal troubles and I was worried the system may not be charging the battery. Then I talked to you guys and then saw that Mark made it.:woohoo: I had to go after that. Luckily, everyone was right and it is still running and charging fine. I am starting to think my signal relay may be the culprit.
