Looks nice - will be interesting to see what it goes for.

Is there any data on how many blue bikes were produced vs. the red? Mine was blue and the red seems more common??

Yes, "was" blue. I painted it 18 years ago and I swear it seemed like a great idea at the time!

I have a red set for my mk2 also, but I really like the blue. Or should I say purple, LOL! Over the years it has faded it to purple.
Here's a pic of my red tank.

Interesting...the seller is a Kawasaki dealer who apparently has lots of older parts...I purchased (from him via eBay) a KZ750R1 (aka GPz) fuel tank in excellent condition. He is from the greater Houston area so I was excited about saving shipping as I could just drive over and pick it up. However, after I won the auction, he balked at me coming over and would only ship the tank (it thus ended up costing me about US$30.00 over what I had I budgeted). I interpret this as he has something he doesn't want the general public to seeB)

I'll let someone else have it. Mine's still perfect, plus no rust, so it wouldn't benefit me much. Looks nice though for sure.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

If that is indeed a NOS tank with original paint $ 325 is a steal - over here (Denmark) that one would fetch at least a grand. Just a few months back I saw a NOS 650 tank sell for close to $ 1200. :S

Btw McDroid, if I had a room full of NOS parts I wouldn't really want the general public to know where it was either - but I think he could have agreed to meet you on neutral grounds to save you some $$.

77 KZ 650 B1, 82 GPz 1100 B2.
