well it aint so new, but I think in the long run it will be kind of cool, still havent decided what I want to do with it. the bike shows a little over 7 k on it, motor turns over and seems to have compression,
I am thinking about leaving it in the race trim, anybody got any thoughts
And a BIG THANKS to Mcdroid for his help

Normally I would be the first to say restore it. It's a 73
BUT in this case I might be inclined to clean it up and see what I had.
Do you know who did all the body work? Who ever it was did a nice job!
How much motor work was dun? Kick starter? Don't see one, or is that a
block off plat?
Any Way, I think you found a one of a kind. Wish I had it..................!

I forgot the name of the body, I will e mail the p.o. he told me but I forgot,,
its all stock, the class he was running was very limited, the only mods seem to be some frame bracing, a steering stablizer and the rear sets, he did put the lester wheels on and the clip ons.
The kick starter is there less the foot arm.
and he said the Youshi header on it made the bike come alive.
other than been sitting it dosent really seem to be in that bad of shape

I would restore it to race bike condition. Make it pretty and show it off. Maybe even make a story about how it was a factory race bike.

If it has the old Youshi pipe of the same vintage it's very rare.
Is it under swept and about 4in, in diameter? A Youshi pipe WILL bring a Z1 to life!!!
To bad you cant get them any more. Paint the pipe inside and out or they rust
pretty fast.
By the way, you are killing me, I wont that bike reeeeel bad.

1973 Z1... you lucky S.O.B.
How the hell did you find that one?

I didn't even know they made a factory racer as such...
I'd research to find some truth about that, maybe you already have versus rely on what the POS says.

Same time, as in my project, 1976 kz900, dime a dozen so the decision to modify to a street fighter became easier. If it had been a 1973 Z1, no firggin way, would have restored to stock.

Just my two cents,

OMR

Damn you, how you guys find such a find is amazing...
