Help with identification was created by carlgustav
Hi Folks,

Ok, this is a long shot. Decades (literally) ago I purchased a heavy cable lock for previous bikes. I'm now back in a mode to take some road trips & would like to use this lock as opposed to buying new. However, I've lost the key, go figure. So, I'm putting up pix in the hopes that some of the more 'experienced' (been around a while) riders may recognize the manufacturer of this lock. I can find no mfg. markings anywhere.

Sorry about the fuzzy close up of the lock, I've had morning coffee but no b'fast yet ;^).

TIA for any help.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but this is an exercise in futility. Even if the lock is identified, and the company is still in business, and they still use that lock configuration, and they provide replacement keys. There is a 0% chance of getting the right key without the key cut code, which was probably thrown away "decades ago" when you bought it. And even if a local locksmith could cut you a new key, which I doubt it, this would end up costing more than a brand new (probably higher security) lock. Definitely a lot less headache. I'd say give yourself one more chance to find the key and then start shopping for a new cable lock. They are probably a lot less now than when you bought the other one.

Yep, that's about what I got from a local locksmith. Oh well.
