This is a super clean KZ900. It has 10,000 original miles, I have all of the stock components except for the exaust. My understanding is that I am the third owner. The bike does seem to have a charging system problem, however it has never been properly diagnosed.

No picture. $3600 for a bike that has "charging problems".

For a 1973-75 Z1, if in good shape he'll get it no problem.
At the same time, pending VIN numbers, these where also put together in Lincoln, Nebraska...
VIN numbers posted?
Another matter, anyone have any ideas what a Nebraska VIN numbered bike is worth these days?
Running $$$ versus non running...

Some of the USA built bikes are odd-ball bunches of parts. We've seen plenty of examples where Kawasaki installed mismatched calipers on KZ1000 LTD's - 38mm piston on one side, 42mm on the other. Some of the Lincoln build 77 KZ900's used KZ1000 components as they started to run out of parts.

Whoa bummer for I was under the impression these were somewhat considered rare...
Well then, I know what my buddy paid so maybe I can squeeze it out of him for the same price of $200....
I know, I know, he's a long time buddy ( 43 years, rode dirt bikes as kids, we're god fathers to each others first borns) but this is a KZ after all...

Then put a 16" hog wheel on it. Lowered it by cutting the rear shock mounts off then drilling 3/8"holes right below that. Then we learned, the tire rubbed the rear light wires. and we had to heat and bend the kick stands. That was all of us Guys in the old "Hood" The older Guys with Harleys bought them to beat up for fun. Then us younger guys started, must have been 12 of us.
Not knowing the future, I did have the brains to save all the small stuff. I started selling on ebay in 2000. Before all the aftermarket cheap knock off started.
I used to feel guilty selling some parts for crazy money!
Oh well, just my opinion.
Thanks for the memory lane trip!
Next time anyone see's an old rusty Z900 Ya better scarf it up!

found a few old pictures, scanned. These are all before my digital era!!
Just for veiwing. not for sale, they were all sold off.
1st was the origin. 76, this was 1978, All Blue one was a rusted out Z1, green one was clean, went to Japan.
dark blue one was extra paint from a Harley job I did, it was the covered one with the vetter bags $100 bike.
The black one on table was a low VIN 73, notice the HOOKER 4 into 1.
The pro-street in its early years.

I may know a few guys who would be interested if its really complete. (exhaust, airbox, control switches, gauges, side covers, original wheels, all that kinda stuff there?) I'll ask them again and see how bad they really want one.
