One year anniversary.... was created by Bluemeanie
It's now 5:25pm here in SoCal. Exactly one year ago to the minute that I had my accident. Doesn't bother me too much, been thinking about it on and off. I'm about 95% recovered, limp a little now and then but coming right along. Been back at work for 6 months after 6 months off. Been riding the bike to work every day for last rwo months. Gotta admit, big steel things on wheels bother me when they get too close. :woohoo: Just a reminder to ride safe and PAY attention (especially brake lights on the freeway!) I know a couple of you guys had mishaps after I did and it really bothered me, everyone healing up nicely? Ride safe guys so you don't have to go through what myself and other members have.;)

i guess that's what you get for having an affair with a bike half your age! No i'm just kidding, i know we all feel ill when a member and friend go down on a bike and i know we all feel happy in helping through prayer and any way else we can for injured riders. i think it's a safe habit to be nervous around large 4 wheel cages.

Yeah, I remember how surprised I was to read about your mishap, especially since you're a veteran rider. Made me think alot about how easy it is to get distracted and how things can happen in a split second. Glad you're coming along so well and that riding is back to a routine for you.

Keep your eyes off those chrome stacks!:( B)

well i for one am glad to have you still with us.
i'm also glad to see you jumped right back on that horse ( bad reference, i know )

there have been a lot of people who quit after laying a bike down.
takes a real man ( or woman ) to face their fears and go back to what almost killed them.

we're all either insane or love our rides.

i pefer to think it's a little of both.

glad you pulled through john.
and i wish you many miles between you and your mistress.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

It seems like just yesterday, John. but it sure feels good to be back on the road, huh?

My shoulder has a spur on it that pokes at me sometimes, but otherwise just a memory. And I always pay special attention to escape routes when coming to side roads entering the highway.

Reminds me of the Klondike commercial where the hot chick walks by and the guy just keeps looking at his wife. He's not thinking about ice cream, I'll guarantee that. He's just wondering if that peek would be worth the pain.B)

i just past my five year anniversary, and i will say that the memory of that day has made me a better rider. i subcumbed to dehydration and i now keep a cooler on my bike during trips and drink water all the time. if i dont have to piss when i stop for gas i sit and drink more water. keep an eye on yourself as well as the road.
hope you are recovering well.
