Any known trouble with these bikes?
Are they easy to work on. I can buy one with 18000kms on it for $1500.00

Rockin\' a KZ650B2 since 2007 and a KZ 1000E since 2008

I don't know about troubles but I do remember it was a real looker. Always wanted one. For that price I would want it to be in pretty nice shape. In stock condition with stock colors would be nice too. ;)

I seem to recall issues with the cooling system....

and there are two additional levels of complexity you must learn to deal with...a liquid cooling system and a full fairing which must come off when you do maintenance.

but, like Locozuna mentioned, they are nice lookin' scooters:)

When they came out in 1984 I would have killed for one. Knowing the dealers around here I could ride any motorcycle I wanted so I rode the new 84 and it was one nice motorcycle, but I never bought. I think they have the period stupid 16" front wheel was the main gripe I had. I always regretted not buying, but made a big mistake and bought a Yamaha FJ1200 instead and oh my GOD what a PIECE OF UTTER ******.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Back in 88 when I first came to Canada my cousin had one. A heavy bike with supposedly 120hp. I took it out one night and being used to a CB500 I found it difficult to keep the front wheel on the ground. Never rode it again. Just thought it had to much power. I figured I would live longer if I stuck in the 50 to 75hp range :)

I think the cooling system was so bad that they had a lot of problems with warped heads.
