Well as many of you already know, I recently purchased a farily good condition 1971 yamah 350 2-stroke for a steal of $100. Got it running shortly after. recieved offers of up to $750 within a couple days of being on craigslist. It is a pretty neat little bike that kinda interested me. Always wanted an old 2 stroke and this qualified. Well, for the other side of the story. My friend got an old kz1000 from his brother. It was pretty rough, and the motor was locked up. My friend wanted to build a cheap drag-bike, so he proceeded to strip it down to a bare frame. From there he disassembled the motor. Amost 2 years later it still sits as a bare frame, 2 empty engine cases, and many ziploc bags full of parts. Like many others before him he lost interest in the old kz's and began turning towards the crotch rockets because of their cheap price, agileness, and crazy power. I couldnt just let this bike die like this in many different pieces. So I thought about it very hard, and offered him my yamaha for his kz. He agreed to the trade because a running bike was more valuable to him than a bunch of pieces he has no interest for, and i am a huge kz fan anyways. I am going to tackle this build over the next few years with all of you at kzriders help. I have always wanted a 1000, but all I can find around SD is the small fours which i already have 3 of. Thank you ahead of time for all the help you are going to give me, haha!

You're living my dream, jordon.
You don't even have to strip the bike... it's ready for you to start building.
I hope you start a post in Projects... I'd like to follow your progress.

Way to go, Jordan !!! You got rid of a Yamaha nail and got a REAL bike. B)
Which 1000 is it ??? I sure hope it's an A. You can do a whole bunch of things with an A model. Good luck with your project.
