Not possible is it? was created by Vter Bob
I've run two tanks of gas through the 82 LTD since I finally got it running decent. I haven't exactly been babying it and I haven't exactly been WFO all the time either. I would say I have been riding more aggressively than is normal for me. I've done the math five or six times and it always comes out the same. 51 mpg average.

I'm still not really used to the five-speed and can't imagine what the milage will be if I ride it as conservatively as I do the six-speed 550. I know there was a milage thread on here not to long ago but I can't remember anyone else with an 82 KZ1000 LTD and what kind of milage they were getting.

51 mpg is nothing to sneeze at!!
I think most of the 1000's are getting 35-45 mpg.

Mid 30's is what I expected. That's why I am so surprised. The best I ever got on the 550 is 54 mpg and it usually averages around 48-50 mpg. The ride on the 1000 is so much nicer, now I need to decide which one to keep....

Steell, I like your windshield. I just picked one up on the bay that is very similar.
