If you read the "I Dropped It" thread you may guess I needed some parts this week. Z1 did not have the ground collar that goes inside the headlight (for the turn signal) so I ordered one last Sunday from American Classix. On Tuesday I got an e-mail that my order would ship, on Wednesday I got e-mail from UPS that the package was ready for pickup from the vendor - It will appear sometime next week! This means that, although they received my order on Sunday - it wasn't actually shipped out until Wednesday!

In the meantime I identified a couple more parts I needed so on Wednesday I ordered them from Z1 - they were delivered yesterday (Thursday)!

Needless to say, American Classicx will not be getting any more of my business unless they have something unobtainable elsewhere! Z1 is without doubt THE BEST!

Oh, by the way, the grounding collars are still available from Kawasaki! In order to get the bike back on the road I ordered them from my local dealer - they ordered them and they were available the NEXT DAY! Yes, they were a few more $$$, but no shipping so not too bad! We often forget to check with Kaw - but many of the common parts we need are still available from them!

Sorry to say I've never heard much good word of mouth about American Classix from anyone.

I can say with 100% certainty that when it comes to parts vendors, it just doesn't get any better than Jeff and the entire crew at Z-1 Ent. I think it helps that Jeff and his staff are just as passionate about these old bikes as his customers are. They not only have the experience and the knowledge but they are more than willing to share it with whomever might ask. They well deserve the phenomenal growth in sales they have experienced in the last few years. They should be a case study for how to run a small business successfully at a business college somewhere. I'm sort of glad they aren't located within driving distance of me or I wouldn't have any money left in my pockets, I'd have to just start endorsing my paychecks over to Jeff.

Tell me about it. That online catalog makes it too easy, though. All my parts, all laid out conveniently for me. Every time I look through it I get this "Oh, hey...I need that" feeling.

I just placed another order with Z1 a few hours ago. I'm really hoping the parts get shipped quickly too. They're usually pretty good about that.

I order most of my OEM stuff from bike bandit but they take FOREVER to ship! The package doesn't even ship for up to a week after the order is placed. That just kills me!!

Dennis Kirk is awesome at shipping too, but they don't carry too much for our old bikes anymore.

I'm glad to see that Z1 is always adding parts to their inventory. Everytime I need something I "browse" and always order more stuff! Like Virii mentioned, that online catalog is dangerous!
