There is another member in the UK looking for a master cylinder rebuild kit for a Z-500, but I can't find the thread at the moment. I know it was within the last week or so.

I don't think it was you anyway :)

cheers guys,
i dont have to sell it, so if i can't get what i want for it i'll keep it in the shed until i have more time and space to do what i want to it! (USD suspension, wider wire wheels, braced swing arm, but all done in a classic style!!)

sparky, Z-Power do master cylinder rebuild kits for about £30 i think.

How much do you guys reckon my Z500 i worth?
I paid £500 for it just over a year agou, but it had no MOT then, it now has 10 months MOT, has had all new brake lines, been tuned and set up on the dyno, putting out 42.5bhp at the rear wheel, fitted the drag bars, CBR400 levers and master cylinder, new rear wheel bearings and cush drive, Giulari seat.

Hi ianz500, nice example, been to zpower, they don't have my m/c repair kit.
Hows the fuel economy?
Reason I ask is price of fuel here.

i get about 120 miles to a tank, about £11-13 a tank, it was better before i fitted the pod filters and the new jets!

have you rung Z-Power, i emailed them and they told me they either had them or could get hold of them?

Yes I rang them about a week ago, my m/c is a 14mm and they don't have the piston assembly I need.
One of the guys on here [Steel] pointed me to the turbo loonies website:woohoo: so the search goes on, but I've also been given a tip concerning a company here in UK that MAKES TO ORDER:) hydraulic bits and pieces.
If thats successfull I'll post the info on here, I'm sure people will find it usefulB)

Impressive bike as it is. Reminds me of a cross between a Gpz and a Honda Super Sport 440.

Keep it clean and ride that biach.

Is the M/C cleanable or are the soft parts screwed.
A few years back mine was sticking... After investigation a little disassembly and bottle brushing the bore I had a workable M/C again.

kzr750r1,the m/c is screwed,it leaked down the tank and furked the paint, then did the same to the frame tube so with a nice new paint job I'm taking no chances:unsure:
It is after all 28 years old,and one of the few parts I havn't replacedB) yet...:)

Bummer. It's going to get harder to find parts for these bikes year after year. In some cases upgrading to new/different is the way to go. If money was no object I'd already have a new radial M/C on the bike. Usually not the case. Good luck in your search.
