New (used) bike for me? was created by cafekz750
First, I am going to keep the KZ.
I have been thinking about selling one of my other bikes I use for sport touring (FJ1200) and buying a ZX-11. There is a nice one for sale locally that is a 1995, 22,000 miles, black in color. Looks clean and nice. I would like to still sport tour, but would like a bit more sport.
Bad idea; good idea?
Looking for input.
Thanks,
Joe

Sounds like a reasonable plan to me
Keeping in mind that I'm stuck in the late seventies/early eighties, I thought that the FJ1200 and ZX11 were pretty much the same class of bike. Is the ZX11 a lot sportier than the FJ1200?
Just seems like a sideways move

I know it would not be any fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

The recent GPz's (1995/96?) have a healthy internet following and a good reputation...folks that own them, swear by them. They also command a nice resale price... The FJ1200, has a less than sterling reputation.

Thanks for all of the information. The bike thing is going to have to wait until next Spring, I think. On Friday we had a big storm and an oak tree fell on my house (no one was injured). So, cutting and splitting firewood and fixing the house instead of looking at bikes. Just too much to do this summer and I haven't made up my mind as to what bike I would like to get.
Thanks.
Thanks.
