Kz 750 twin vintage road racer(maybe) was created by Kawiman80
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to get your opinions on a KZ 750 twin road racer and what parts will interchange with the motor? I thinking of using a zx7 front end with a ZRX swing arm(stock looking rear),shorten the frame for a single seat and some other mods. Could pistons from an 810 kit work or will any parts from a 750-4 fit internally(springs, valves)? The bike is dated 1975.Basically it would be a modern version of a vintage cafe racer. I'm not that familiar with the twin,so any info would be great! Thanks. I'll try to draw it up and post a pic so everyone has an idea of what I'm trying to do.

None of the 750 four parts will work (except for the spark plugs).

If you do a search you should find a post I made describing the mods a guy did to get 90 hp out of his 750 twin roadracer.

Cant say what will fit but rstnick posted a pic of one from the Paris Ontario Vintage meet. Orange with a big number 116 on the tail. I spoke to one of the guys involved. Wish I could remember what he said about the front end. Main thing I remember was thinking that these guys were lunatics :woohoo: when it came to racing these old bikes.

Check it here

Hey Thanks for the info. So what parts could I use to get some more UMPH!!!! from my twin? Will the ZX7 front end work on it,since the frame is similiar to a 1000? I know Omar's has a sweet set of rear sets for it and a few other things that I could use. Any way that project is on hold right now,job issues! And steel,I found the article and the bike is sweet!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Again thanks for the info.Oh,does anyone have any parts they would want to seel for a KZ-1000 dragbike? I need a rev limiter(no 2step),air shifter and a shift light. I'm in no hurry.won't need it till next season.Just email me with what you have. Thanks

I think 38's are to big for that displacement. I think more along 32's or 34's would be better. But that's my opinion. Thanks anyway.

Your sig says:

1980 kz1000g 1105 36mm Mikuni flat slides

You think running 38mm carbs on 375cc cylinders would be to much, while running 36mm carbs on 276cc cylinders is fine??
750cc divided by 2 is 375cc.
1105cc divided by four is roughly 276cc (276.25cc to be exact).

See the problem?

I discussed carbs with the guy running the 90 rwhp twin, he runs 39mm carbs on his bike, and he thinks my idea of using 38mm throttle bodies would work fine.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but more modern running gear. That's more of a dirt tracker, although it would look pretty cool running around a track, HMMMM? The ideas keep coming.
