Fast, smooth, nekkid and sexy! Could use a fork brace, as I find it a little skittish in the corners (actually the 650 feels much more solid), and possibly a seat upgrade along with a taller windshield and front fender extender for the bugs/grime, and I am holding the mod fever at bay. Produces a chubby in the front of your pants, and a skidmark in the back!
Interestingly enough, you see guys here making their older bikes look like the newer bikes with the fork and swingarm upgrades and so forth. Came across quite a few instances on ZRXOA where they've been working on making their newer bikes look like the old ones with round headlights and so on. Weird.

Well Chris, by US standards, you might say $7K would be high, but up here the demand far outweighs the supply. I've watched classifieds and trading mags like Cycle Trader and Auto Trader for over a year until this popped up. The silver(1st) and blue(2nd) were my preferred choices, and both seemed to be few and far between here. More choice south of the border, but more hassle involved to get there. A buddy just scored an excellent deal last year on a green '03, roughly the same mileage for $5K, but he waited two years. So, what did it set you back?
Lots of offers for the 650, but going to try and hang on to it. Separated a year and a half ago, and instead of looking forward to my retirement in 2011, I'm starting from scratch again. The way I see it, no matter how bleak it looks, just think of the people the world over suffering from starvation and disease, political persecution, natural disasters and so on. Or the US and Canadian forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. I've been working the last 9 out of 10 days to help pay a lawyer, but I still feel pretty damn lucky when I step into the garage and have to decide which bike I want to drive that day.
(sorry for the long-winded answer to a simple question, too many 12hr night shifts and too much coffee! :woohoo: )

I saw a green '03 model with a for sale sign on it while out errand running a month ago.
Of course I just had to stop to check it out!
I was completely in shock that the seller was asking $6K for a bike with just under 30K miles and that had obviously been totally neglected and abused - oil leaks everywhere, signs of road-rash on the engine covers and h-bars, etc, etc.
