I know this is really late notice, but here it is.
The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of L.A. is doing a ride this Sunday, June 22.
The meet-up is a in Woodland Hills, and the ride goes to the Rock Store and Neptunes.
I wasn't planning on going because I was riding last weekend with 'the boys', but it turns out I've got a free pass from SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) for Sunday.
I've never ridden with these folks. Don't know how many will show, don't know what kind of bikes they ride. But I'm always looking for people to ride with, so I'm in.
Here's the link to the VJLAC with the info, if you're interested.

That sounds like fun but it's my daughter's 16th birthday this weekend and since I just went for a ride last weekend it's a "no" from the SWMBO.

I would love to but I have band practice. Since I am the worst player in the group, I need the practice:blush:

Well, Grantl & I braved the heat and rode with the Vintage Japanese Club of LA. About 10 of us left Bobby's Cafe in Woodland Hills and headed for the Rock Store. Temps were high, and I was grateful for my mesh jacket.
The VJLA group included a a '92 Honda Nighthawk 750, Suzuki 250cc 2-stroke, a Honda 400 four, a Honda 750 four, a Triumph, a Kaw W-650 (the newest bike, a 2000), a Motto Guzzi, my KZ900, and Grant's KZ1000.

Riding with a new group is always a little un-nerving, and many of these guys were new. So I pretty much hung back and gave them room.

The ride thru the canyons was hot. It was hot at the Rock Store. But when we hit PCH, it cooled down, and I was 'almost' chilly!

The ride ended in Malibu, and Grant & I said our goodbyes and headed for home.
219 miles for me.

I had a good time on the ride--but it was nasty hot riding back... 106 degrees in Canyon Country when I got back. The scenery at the Rock Store and the beach was great, but the heat had me drinking as much as I could. During the ride, I felt we could have cruised a little more than we did, but had a good time non-the-less.
This group VJMLA are cool but they don't necessarily follow group riding rules. They switch across the lane, ride up next to you, and will ride in your blind spot. I think the guys in our group ride much better when on a group ride, but maybe its just my bias talking...

Sounds like you guys had a good time, too bad it was so hot. I took a little hide down to the beach and met a guy on a yellow with flames on the tank on an old 900. I told him about the site and our breakfast rides and he sounded interested. We'll see if he signs up, he saidd he lives in Long Beach.

Here are some of the bikes ridden by the Vintage Japanese Club members:

Lots of bikes at the Rock Store, in spite of the WARM weather:

One of the more colorful characters at the Rock Store. Do you think this guy's an American Citizen?
