Seller is saying a running (no title) ldt 1100
but I contacted him and now he is sayin the vin is marking it a 750. I am asking for more information but yeah what do you all think?
rochester.craigslist.org/mcy/724615536.html
I would buy a beater 1100 for that price, just to get into the big KZ's but I don't know WTF it really is. And being in Korea kinda makes going for a look and see hard!

Hard to say with 100% accuracy based on the lousy pics but looking at the clutch cover that appears to be a 750, most likely a 750 Shaft. Looking at the exhaust that is blued clear back to the mufflers I think it would be safe to say the bike has some issues.

ok after some picture searching it looks like a zn700 might have had zn1100 badges put on it.
I will have to wait for the engine pictures and vin like I asked for but i am thinking that it is alot easier to put the side covers from an 1100 on the 700 than a 700 frame on a 1100 motor.
I hope he was just wrong about the vin showing it as a 700 I even got my girl's approval on this one.

My take on that ad is this, the seller doesn't really know what he has and if he was willing to sell what he thought was an 1100 for $500.00 when he verifies that it is in fact a 750 you should be able to almost steal it. He also was dumb enough to mention in the ad that the bike was given to him so anything he gets for it is pure profit. I think I'd cast some doubt in his mind as to your concern about the discolored mufflers etc. Who knows if you do a good enough job he may just pay you to haul it away. Worst case scenario you end up with a bike you acn part out and make some money to fund another more worthy project. My $.02 worth.

sorry hardrock!
i'm going to look at it today.
if it's an 1100, it's comming home with me.
btw, sidecovers from a 700 will not fit a 1100 and vice versa.
i bought a set for a 700 for mine and they don,t fit.

Well he sent me the vin and photos today, Kawasaki.com says its just a zn700 so I am probably gonna pass on it anyways.

I guess they made the 1100 badges fit on the 700 cover then, because the marking on the engine that says 0.694 I think refers the the displacement of the zn700 motor.
So in this case I am sad to piss on your parade kawasakiman , I am glad he warned me about the vin last night or that bike would have been at my parents house today...
I don't have much use for a shafty 700.

Yep after looking at the new photos I can say for sure it isn't an 1100. It is a 700, the engine covers for an 1100 are totally different.

well i can tell you why the pictures were so bad.
that poor old bike lived a very hard life.
been down on both sides, everything is damaged or missing.
front master is toast.
oh yeah, someone did change the badges on it.
plus the sidecovers were miss matched. he said he had an offer of $400 for it and i advised him to take it and run.
i have bought some ratty bikes in my time but this old girl has seen some better days.
maybe good for someone needing a motor or motor parts though.
but not any useable body parts on it.
i wasn't trying to gloat or anything hardrock.
