A little ride down by the river was created by KZ_Rage
I am in a bit of a funk lately, so I decided not to work on anything tonight and instead go for a little ride.

I started off repeating the route I took Monday out of Fairfield and down to the Ohio River. Anyway I wanted to get a few photo's of Harrison's Monument but when I got there they were spreading new mulch and had the parking lot full of the stuff, it smelled like fresh manure. Skipped that idea and went down to the Shawnee Power Plant. That's the plants cooling tower in the background. Traveling a bit further down the road I found a campground right on the river so I grabbed a few shots there of the bike with a barge in the background. If you look closely at the last shot you'll see a Kayak trying to attack the wake of the tug.

I came back from the river and cut up Dunlap Rd., just as I got to about 200ft of Old Colerain Rd. a Z14 and some steroided sport Kaw went by on the way down toward the river. I knew they were looking to shoot some great curves on that stretch of the road so I hustled it bit and tried to catch up with them. I didn't push it too hard as I knew they would best my run anyway if they knew how to ride and being on modern bikes, plus my new tires still have the nubs on them so it wouldn't be wise to do that on a bike I've nicknamed "Bad Juju". I did catch up to them though about half a dozen good curves before the bottom as they were caught behind a Neon. Followed them down to the break off to cross the river and go into Ross Ohio. Needless to say they were all over their mirrors trying to see what it was that was tailing them. Didn't get to talk to them but these guys weren't your typical squids, they were fully geared and were serious about their riding. Maybe I'll meet them again someday this summer.

About 5 miles from home though I stopped at a Rally's and got a burger. A fellow working there stuck his head out the window as I sat eating my sandwich and started asking me all manner of questions about the bike. He said he really liked the looks of "Bad Juju", he had never seen a shaft KZ1000 and liked that it was unique. After a bit he stopped asking questions and just starred at the bike for a bit until a customer pulled through to order. After 3 hours and 90 miles, I put her away for the day, I feel better now.

Good post, Rage. I understand your funk. Been there myself.

Good pics and sounds like you had a good evening. :)

I likey!!

Just off topic a bit, I went to a vintage bike rally in Tulsa a few weeks ago. This guy made a cafe CB650 SOHC, and he used the KZ Shafty fuel tank, just because he said it was the best looking Jap tank with knee cutouts ! It was a beautiful machine and the tank looked like it belonged there. Wish I had a pic of it.
